The Neapolitan actor chooses to play Mercutio rather than Romeo

When the handsome Alessandro Preziosi, at the age of 25 and with a degree in law, auditioned for admission to the Actors Academy he played Mercutio, for he was crazy about Zeffirelli’s film. And now, with a successful twenty-year career as an actor, he is back on stage in the role of Romeo’s friend, who is mortally stabbed and whose death leads to the tragic turn of events between the Montagues and Capulets. The most tragic love story ever written, Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, directed by Andrea Baracco, will be staged at the Pergola Theatre from February 7 to 12. A must-see…
