Alessandro Bizzarri

A magical place downtown Florence, where time seems to stand still. Bizzarri carries on the age-old apothecary knowledge and tradition of mixing officinal herbs, mineral powders and drugs for medicinal purposes. Apothecaries used to sell also perfumes and essences, paint colors, wax, candles, paper and ink. The establishment of this apothecary shop dates back to 1842, and nothing has changed since then, not even the interiors. The old shelves are lined with mineral powers and preparations of all kinds, precious ingredients used to make beauty products, creams, deodorants, and a variety of herbs, spices and extracts. It is paradise on earth for artists, restorers, photographers, master perfumers and chefs, who flock here from all over the world.
