His real name was Donato, affectionately called Donatello because he was of small and delicate stature. He sculpted harmonies that had never been seen before, giving the faces he shaped the reflections of their souls. His capable hands made humanity visible. The Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi and the Musei del Bargello will be hosting Donatello, "The Renaissance". In the exclusive setting of Palazzo Strozzi, in a unique exhibition, his works are celebrated together with masterpieces by other Italian masters such as Brunelleschi, Masaccio, Andrea Mantegna, Giovanni Bellini, Raphael and Michelangelo. An extraordinary collaboration between places of excellence, an unprecedented comparison between masterpieces from the past, an alliance between Florentine museums, collections and  institutions and the whole of Italy. This shared and collaborative Renaissance Art is designed to expand the debate on Donatello, master of both time and space, in order to finally do justice to one of the most celebrated sculptors to have ever lived.
